We had the pleasure of filming Phil & Amy’s wedding at The Maynard in Grindleford. A Peak District venue, their favourite people and a day we still love watching back.

Filming at The Maynard
Weddings at The Maynard
The Maynard is a countryside hotel in Grindleford, right in the Hope Valley in the Peak District. It has boutique bedrooms, a restaurant and the Chatsworth Suite for weddings and celebrations.
What we like about venues like this is that the whole day can happen in one place. You can get ready, get married, eat, dance and stay over without anyone needing to jump in a car. That keeps the day feeling calm, and it means we spend more time filming and less time travelling.
Getting Ready at The Maynard
With bedrooms on site, getting ready at The Maynard keeps the morning simple. Everyone is in one place and nobody is racing across the Peak District with a dress bag.
And with two of us filming, if you’re both getting ready at the venue, we can split up and capture both sides of the morning before meeting back up for the ceremony.
That’s exactly how Phil & Amy’s morning went. They both got ready at The Maynard, so we each spent the morning with one of them.
The Ceremony
You can get married right at The Maynard. Phil & Amy had their ceremony in the same room as their wedding breakfast, so once they were married the room was turned around while everyone enjoyed drinks outside.
Because there are two of us, we can set cameras up before the ceremony starts, capture the entrance and the reactions from different angles, then move quietly once everyone has settled. You shouldn’t notice us much at all.
Couple Shots at Padley Gorge and Higger Tor
One of the best things about The Maynard is what’s just down the road. For Phil & Amy’s portraits, we took them out to Padley Gorge and Higger Tor. The scenery and views up there are amazing, and it’s only a short trip from the venue.
We still kept it short. We don’t like dragging couples away for an hour-long photoshoot. We grabbed them, made the most of the views and got them straight back to their guests.
The Wedding Breakfast & Speeches
Speeches are one of our favourite parts of the day to film. With two of us, we’ll have cameras on whoever is speaking as well as the two of you and the reactions around the room.
Some of the best moments aren’t the speech itself. They’re someone trying not to cry, someone losing it laughing, or a look across the room at someone they love.
Staying at The Maynard
The Maynard has bedrooms with views over the Hope Valley. That’s a nice option if you’ve got friends and family travelling in for the wedding, and it means nobody has to rush off once the evening gets going.
Some Kind Words
“…Aaron and Becky kept our morning calm and we never felt that cameras were pushed in our faces, to be honest I think we forgot they were there at points…”

Getting Married at The Maynard?
We’re Aaron & Becky, the husband-and-wife team behind One Two One Wedding Films. We’re based near Ripley, so the Peak District is close to home for us.
Our approach is pretty simple. We want you spending your wedding day with your friends and family, not performing for a camera. We film things naturally as they happen, step in when we need to, and try to make having two videographers around feel like as little of a big deal as possible.
Our Film package is £2,000 and our Film + Essential Photos package is £2,500. Travel across the East Midlands is included, and that covers The Maynard.
If you’re getting married at The Maynard and that sounds like what you’re looking for, we’d love to hear about your plans.
