Swancar Farm Country House wedding videography
If you’re getting married at Swancar Farm Country House and looking for a wedding videographer, we’ve actually had the pleasure of filming here before for Matt & Sophie’s wedding.
And yep… it’s a lovely one to film at.
Swancar has loads of space, plenty of natural light and some great spots for couple shots without needing to disappear off for ages. More importantly for us, the layout gives us plenty of room to capture everything naturally without constantly being in your face.
Getting Ready at Swancar Farm
One thing we really liked about Swancar was the amount of space available for morning prep.
Sophie started the morning in the separate prep area, which has a large, bright room with loads of space for hair, makeup, bridesmaids and everything else going on.
From a filming point of view, that’s perfect for us. Rather than being squeezed into the corner of a small hotel room, we’ve got enough space to move around and capture everything from different angles without getting in the way.
Later in the morning, Sophie moved across to the main venue and upstairs to get into her dress.
Again, it’s a really nice space to film in. It’s bright, there’s plenty of room and the windows look out across the surrounding countryside as well as towards the courtyard - meaning you can even have a sneaky look at your guests arriving while you’re getting ready.
Matt arrived already suited and booted, but we still grabbed a few shots downstairs using the big windows and natural light - jacket on, tie adjustments, checking the watch… all the usual groom stuff!
The Ceremony & Courtyard
The ceremony space is another big plus.
There’s plenty of room for us to position our cameras and capture the ceremony from different angles without having to constantly move around.
Outside, the courtyard gives guests somewhere to mingle before and after the ceremony and it worked brilliantly for Matt & Sophie’s confetti throw.
In fact, their confetti shot is still one of our favourites we’ve filmed.
Everything just lined up perfectly. The courtyard, the breeze and an absolute tonne of confetti meant it seemed to hang in the air forever.
Couple Shots Around Swancar Farm
We don’t like dragging couples away from their wedding for an hour-long photoshoot.
Normally we’ll grab you for around 10–20 minutes, have a wander with the photographer and then get you straight back to your guests.
Swancar works really well for this.
There’s a long driveway that looks brilliant on camera, along with the surrounding fields and countryside, so there are plenty of options without having to go far.
Matt & Sophie were really relaxed with their couple shots, which is exactly how we like to work.
The Wedding Breakfast & Speeches
The main reception space is huge, which gives us loads of flexibility when it comes to filming the wedding breakfast and speeches.
Because there are two of us filming, we can position cameras around the room to capture the person speaking as well as all the reactions happening around them.
And those reactions are often some of our favourite bits.
The drinks and reception areas have a slightly moodier feel compared with some of the brighter parts of the venue too, which looks great on film and gives the evening a completely different atmosphere.
Our Experience Filming at Swancar Farm
For us, Swancar is one of those venues that simply works really well for a wedding day.
There’s plenty of space, loads of natural light, great options for morning prep, a good-sized ceremony room, plenty of places for couple shots and enough room during the speeches and evening for us to get the angles we need without taking over.
The team were also brilliant to work alongside, which always makes the day run that little bit smoother.
So yes… we’d definitely be happy to head back!
Getting Married at Swancar Farm?
We’re Aaron & Becky, the husband-and-wife team behind One Two One Wedding Films.
Our approach is pretty simple — we want you spending your wedding day with your friends and family, not spending half of it performing for a camera.
We film things naturally as they happen, step in when we need to, and try to make having two videographers around feel like as little of a big deal as possible.
If you’re planning your wedding at Swancar Farm Country House and that sounds like what you’re looking for, we’d love to hear about your plans.
